In Benin, it is called Azongogwe or Azonbobwe in local language. Botanically called Chrysophyllum albidum. Methanolic extract of the cotyledons from the seeds of Agbalumo have led to the isolation of eleagnine, tetrahydro- 2 -methylharman and skatole.
